HOMESHARE
Pilot projects in Oxfordshire and West Sussex
NAAPS gained Department of Health funding for an Homeshare Project with pilot
programmes based in Chichester, West Sussex, and Abingdon, Oxfordshire. Homeshare
works on the simple premise that a person with suitable accommodation would like
someone to share their home. No money usually changes hands; the Homesharer lives
rent free with the Householder and provides about 10 hours of support per week.
If you want to know more about the Homeshare Programme generally, please contact
Angela Catley on angela@naaps.org.uk. If you are interested in applying for Homeshare in Oxfordshire or West Sussex
then contact either Vicky Harwood on victoria.harwood@oxfordshire.gov.uk or Dawn.Blake on dawn.blake@westsussex.gov.uk.

Small Community Services Project
This is an exciting Department of Health-funded project which commenced in January
2007. The aim of the project is to stimulate care and support micromarkets in
2 pilot areas - the first in Oldham and the second in Kent. The project aims
to reduce or remove barriers to:
a. the survival of existing micro services and
b. the emergence of new micro services.
The programme is vitally important in defining and demonstrating ways in which
local authorities can stimulate and support the development of thriving local
micromarkets in order to ensure that individualised support and services are available
to the people who need them.
