Shared Lives Consultancy
The consultancy service provides the following services:
- Help in identifying the type of Shared Lives services appropriate to the particular
location
- Support and guidance in establishing new Shared Lives Schemes both within and
external to local authorities
- Assistance to schemes that are finding it difficult to meet registration and
inspection requirements
- Advice guidance and assistance to Local Authorities considering the externalisation
of their Shared Lives Scheme
- Advice guidance and assistance to Local Authorities wishing to improve the effectiveness
of their Shared Lives Scheme
- Assistance to Schemes wishing to further develop the range and quality of their
Shared Lives service
- Workshops and individual assistance to Schemes wishing to improve their practice
in key areas
- Conferences and development workshops promoting the Shared Lives model to Commissioners
of services
- Facilitation of problem solving in relation to individual scheme or placement
difficulties
- A consultative service to the Regulatory bodies, Government Departments, NGOs
and other organisations with an interest in Shared Lives
Our Consultants
The Shared Lives Consultancy Service is managed by the NAAPS Shared Lives Head
of Service. NAAPS staff act as consultants but NAAPS also works with independent
associates.
NAAPS Associate Consultants are drawn mainly from existing practitioners and
are distributed throughout the UK.
